A Virtuous Woman and Our Inheritance in Christ Our God! Reading/Thoughts Proverbs 12, and 13

Shalom,

Good Thursday morning it’s June 17, 2021, I pray all is well: Today’s readings and reflections will come from Proverbs 12:1-28 and Proverbs 13:1-25. I hope everyone is having a great week so far, and today is the last day of online schooling for my kids. I can’t tell who is more excited about this, the kids or me. I know I’m excited the nonsense is over just to get ready for the confusion to start over again in September.

Proverbs 12:1-28 (http://bib.ly/Pr12.1-28.KJV)

Behind every good man is a better woman! This statement rings true every-time I say it out loud. I Ask myself daily what I do to deserve a woman like Heather who has never left my side. I am not an easy person to live with and apparently wasn’t an easy person to serve with either. I said this the other day that I chose my first wife and God chose my second wife! I wouldn’t be sitting here today as a new man if Heather wasn’t part of this story and that’s exactly why I know God is truly King of the universe! I don’t deserve what I have and everyday I ask God why he is blessing a man like me. Even our garden is booming this season and once again I don’t feel worthy. I haven’t put much time in my garden and we are in a drought but somehow my cherries made it.

I have answered my own questions for the last six months. The work I did was with him and through his words and followed up by trying efforts. It doesn’t matter what we have done or said in our lives because we are all imperfect. We are all given a second chance through Christ if we accept him into our lives and hearts. My purpose in life is what I have been called to do, right here with readings and reflections; from JPCE Spiritual Talk. It seems everything comes in threes with God, and now I know he has been waiting on me. First Heather came into my life and she helped me to better understand the orthodox christian faith. Moose came later but it seems he was just another driver pushing me to my destiny. Now I have this blog, my readings, my reflections and my new found strength and confidence in Christ.

God never left me because he was waiting on me to find the right time to say LORD you are truly my savior. God gave me Heather for multiple reasons and one of the main reasons was because a guy like me needed balance. Only a woman like Heather has the strength to handle a LION like me, and to endure some of our imperfections. As I close out this reflection it’s clear without Heather who knows where I would be today. Would I be a follower of Yeshua (Jesus) today if Heather had never walked into my wife, 15 years ago. Proverbs 12:4- A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs 13:1-25 (http://bib.ly/Pr13.1-25.KJV)

As I read through Chapter 13 I’m sitting here and reflecting on the legacy I would love to leave behind. Proverbs 13:22- A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. My legacy has nothing to do with money or popularity, but rather how I helped spread God’s victories in my life. The example I want to set for my kids is this, I want them to know that their dad didn’t let PTSD be his downfall. Instead I want them for generations to let others know how I became a God fearing man. How I made the choice to let Christ our God into my heart and mind and how he transformed this grumpy veteran into a beacon of light. God has sent me on this path to help others like me and I know deep down I have been chosen to do his work.

My inheritance is what I have gained through Christ and even though I don’t feel I deserve it. I keep driving on singing his victory hymns in my life and yes all things are possible through Christ our God. My journey wouldn’t be possible if Heather wasn’t part of it and that’s how I know there is a Creator God!

In closing I continue to pray all is well and I hope you all have a safe and joyful day. Let’s end today’s message with this. Find that special someone in your life and first thank God for them in your life, and for the blessings both him and them brought into our lives. Turn to your special someone and it doesn't matter what it is or who it is, and give them a hug and a kiss! Say to them I love you, and I thank our Creator God for bringing you in my life.
